This La Unión TWO Bedroom Holiday apartment is part of a lovely, modern complex standing only 10 minutes drive from the lovely beaches of Alccazares and the Port and Historical town of Cartagena.

La Unión itself is an old Spanish Mining Town close to Mar Menor in the province of MURCIA.

There is a LARGE street market 2 minutes from these apartments every Tuesday offering locally produced fresh fruit and vegetables and of course clothes, shoes, handbags, leather goods, allsorts!

The lively market town of La Union, named after an amalgamation in the mid eighteenth century of 4 small mining villages, is situated midway between the naval port city of Cartagena on the one hand and the sandy beaches and bays of the Mar Menor on the other.

The Mar Menor (inland sea) is a short drive away and is a safe haven for swimming and water sports as it is non tidal. Separating the Mar Menor from the Mediterranean is the La Manga strip. Los Alcazares, with what seems like miles of glorious sandy beaches and bar restaurants is one of the larger towns sitting on the Mar Menor and is very popular in summer with Spanish holidaymakers and tourists alike.

Near San Pedro and towards the north end of the Mar Menor is another traditional Spanish town called Lo Pagan, famous for its mineral waters and Mud baths.

Murcia, the regions capital and cultural city is situated on the river Segura and boasts a beautiful Cathedral and other historic buildings, is a 20 minute drive away.
